Cute for grandson.Second time ordering. These are my sons go to if they are clean. He loves the pockets and the fit.I got these shorts for my 4 year old son. He is a big kid so I got him a bigger size and they fit him perfectly so I would say it is a little small to size. They have pockets and don't look like sleepwear so he can wear them to school or whenever we go out but they are also comfy enough so he also wears them to sleep. They still look good after 6-7 washes. No shrinking issueIma son wears them all the time and he loves them. I think the materiel is pretty good overall for the price and would recommend these.We got these in the light and dark grey in size 9-10 for my 9-year-old son who has a straight, slim build. They are a great length, hitting just above his knee, but are a little tight through the waist, which is surprising, considering the way things generally fit on him. I'd recommend sizing up one or even two, if your kids have more athletic or full builds.I am phasing out synthetic fabrics for my kids' clothes, so I love that these are 100% cotton. They will shrink if you wash cotton in warm water or dry it in a dryer, so factor that into your size consideration, too.The quality is good; the drawstrings work well and the pockets are so nice to have for the rocks and random pen caps and bottle tops that seem to need a way to come home on every walk (or is that just my kid?).These cotton shorts are a good neutral color, long short. They are lightweight and normally stretchy. The stitching is good, and though they are unisex, our son prefers the style and length, and the girls think they are too loose and long. They are pretty ordinary design, casual, for athletic wear, loungewear, etc.LOVE these shorts. They're great for when my son is just hanging around the house. Soft enough so that he can sleep in them and they don't give him sensory issues. Nice pockets, and the material is soft. They've already been washed and dried several times - no shrinkage at all.These are thin, lightweight shorts that my 10-year-old says are comfortable and fit well. He likes that they have pockets and are lightweight. They are about the thickness of a t-shirt, though the fabric is a little denser. I think they are perfect for summer but would be too thin for the fall or summer, so they are at-home/play shorts; I probably wouldn't send him to school in them.
