Ordered this coat, with some reservations as to how nice it would actually be. It is a perfect winter coat for our active 3 year old. It has a lot of warm, thick fleece/insulation, the wrists have the fitted material inside to keep air out and the flap over the zipper was a must. The hood is attached and cannot be taken off, which can be good or bad depending on your view. The only 'negative' for me is that I would like a coat with something inside to button around the waste to keep the air from going up the coat. This isn't a deal breaker since we live in Texas, but being from up North, it might be more important in colder climates. The color is also nice. I like the bright color to make it easy to pick my little one out in a crowd. Over all, a great coat. I would purchase it again.Zipper is easy to use, Quality seems good, material is solid and seems waterproof. I ordered the Large for my 3 year old and it's only "slightly" big, which surprised me. Now, my 3 year old is about the size of a 5 year old, but the Large has a rating for a youth large, which I expected to make this Big on a 5 or 6 year old, but it fits. The sleeves just barely cover the fingers, so no need to roll them up. I expected to get 2 to 3 years out of it, but probably won't. DON'T BE AFRAID TO ORDER A FEW SIZES LARGER ON THIS ONE.My son loves this coat. He usually wears a small but based on other reviews we bought a large and while it was a little big on him it fit pretty well. I think the arms are on the short side or it's meant to be a snug coat. I know if I put that coat on my older son who is usually large it would have been way too small.We usually buy the 3 in 1 coats for my son but we couldn't pass up the price on this nice coat. We were shopping around forever and realized lesser known brands cost more. Seems to be nice and warm but the true test will be in December and January.Love the coat it was for my son. A little big but that I wanted it that way. I bought a xl. My son is only four but he runs size wise of a six year old. Love it colors and very thick.Since my 5 year old is growing really fast, and we live in Texas, I don't want to spend too much on a heavy winter coat like this. This is relatively inexpensive, the color is vibrant, and the overall style is pretty cool, and most important, it is very warm. It is also not too bulky to make your kids look like a ballon. Seems to easily clean up in the washer and dryer. However, the fabric tears fairly easily. I've had to hand sew multiple small tears to keep the stuffing inside. I know my son is active and plays in the snow in it, but you would expect a kids' coat to be made with more durable outer fabric.
